D_BUILD - installation work - 2021

In the context of the first year of the scenography study course at the Academy for Theater and Dance, Amsterdam we collectively created an exhibition with installation works made with the material of this foldable camping trailer. After the process of taking it completely apart we were left with the pieces and ought to build something new out of them.

My research was rooted in the past lives of the materials that the trailer was made off. The process of dismantling it got me closer to the built-in resources and made me wonder: why do we try to feel closer to nature by surrounding us with highly produces deformed natural resources?

I tried (with a focus on failure) to give back the
resources to nature, understanding the concept of the trailer as failed and helping it decay into what it used to be faster. This research was documented in video and became part of an installation which showed the very process I was moving through during the research.
These aesthetics of an to some extends abandoned desk bring up questions about resolving timelines of decay and past and future.
